La Quinta Country Club is a place steeped in history and tradition. Here, golfers, food enthusiasts, and friends seamlessly come together. The line between fellow members and lifelong friends blurs in this welcoming environment. Surrounded by breathtaking scenery, La Quinta Country Club offers inspiring views in every direction. Despite its fame, it somehow manages to stay hidden, creating an exclusive feel.
The fairways of La Quinta have hosted a multitude of celebrities, from Hollywood elites to presidents. These famous 18 holes, designed by architect Lawrence Hughes, feature tree-lined fairways, lakes, bunkers, and gently rolling terrain. When it first opened, the course stretched to 7200 yards, with holes ranging from 160 to 535 yards.
In 1959, the golf course opened at the La Quinta Hotel, welcoming legends like Bing Crosby, Phil Harris, and Bob Hope for its first round. A year later, President Dwight D. Eisenhower made history by dedicating the 18-hole championship course, hitting a ball 125 yards down the fairway.
La Quinta Country Club continues to be a beacon in the golfing community, hosting the prestigious American Express PGA Golf Tournament annually. It has been praised by PGA Tour professionals for its excellent conditions and atmosphere, ranking among the top five percent of private clubs in the country. Recognized as both a Distinguished Club and a Platinum Club of America, La Quinta extends its warm hospitality to all, inviting members and guests to enjoy unforgettable experiences and celebrate together.
