Established in 1883, Capital City Club has long been dedicated to "promoting the pleasure, fostering kind feelings, and nurturing the general culture of its esteemed members."
Today, Capital City Club proudly operates three distinct facilities for the enjoyment of its members. The oldest among them, the downtown City Club building on John Portman Blvd., was inaugurated on December 16, 1911. The Capital City Club, in Brookhaven, became a part of the club's legacy in 1913 and was eventually acquired in 1915. During this transition, the golf course was expanded from nine to eighteen holes, and the current country club building was proudly constructed in 1928. Moreover, the Brookhaven club is in the midst of a transformative journey, currently renovating its Clubhouse facilities, including state-of-the-art kitchen and dining facilities, a cutting-edge fitness center, an upgraded golf shop, and luxurious locker rooms.
Capital City Club's prestige extends beyond its Atlanta historical significance.
The club's golfing heritage is equally impressive, with Crabapple, the club’s third property, having hosted three prestigious golf tournaments. This includes the 2003 American Express Championship, triumphantly won by the legendary Tiger Woods. Furthermore, the club has served as the esteemed venue for the 2017 US Mid-Amateur Championship, the Georgia State Amateur, and the 2013 NCAA Collegiate Championship, further solidifying its standing as a top-tier destination for world-class golf events. Capital City Club continues to evolve and excel, honoring its legacy while embracing the future.
